Purpose and acceptance

Macro Recipe is a mobile application for iOS and Android that helps you plan your meals: it generates menus and recipes matched to your macro targets, budget and dietary preferences, and lets you log meals, manage groceries and follow your stats.

The service is published by Mansour Habibou Hamani, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel), registered under SIRET 10438683400014, with registered office at 2 boulevard Georges Méliès, 94360 Bry-sur-Marne, France (“we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using Macro Recipe, you accept these terms without reservation. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and us and are complemented by our Privacy Policy, available on macro-recipe.com.

Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You agree to provide a valid email address and accurate information, and to keep it up to date. One account per person.

Keep your credentials secure: you are responsible for activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, tell us immediately at support@macro-recipe.com. If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers’ own terms apply to that sign-in.

The app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. When you download it, the applicable store terms also apply.

Subscription and payment

Macro Recipe offers a free tier and a Premium subscription. The free tier includes 3 menu generations per week, plus meal logging, grocery lists and stats. Premium removes the generation limit and unlocks all premium features.

Premium costs €9.99 per month or €69.99 per year. The exact price, in your local currency, is always shown at checkout before you confirm and may vary by region.

Billing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), with subscriptions managed through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your card or bank details.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Free trial

New subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial. The trial converts automatically into a paid subscription at the current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

The trial is intended for first-time subscribers and is available once per person. Eligibility for introductory offers is enforced by the App Store and Google Play (one introductory offer per store account). We may deny the trial or suspend accounts created to obtain repeated free trials.

Refunds and right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a legal right of withdrawal for 14 days from the date you subscribe, without having to give a reason (Directive 2011/83/EU).

By using Premium features immediately after subscribing, you expressly request immediate performance of the service and acknowledge losing your right of withdrawal for the part of the service already provided, as permitted by Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.

Because payment is collected by Apple or Google, refund requests for store purchases are handled by the store: use Apple’s “Report a Problem” page or Google Play’s refund process. You can also write to us at support@macro-recipe.com — we will help, and refund requests outside the legal right of withdrawal are reviewed case by case.

Your obligations

Use Macro Recipe lawfully and for personal purposes. Do not misuse it, do not attempt to probe or bypass its security, and do not reverse engineer or decompile the app.

Do not scrape, extract or copy data from the service in bulk, do not share your account, and do not resell access to the service.

Prices you share with the community must be honest and accurate — real prices you actually observed. We may remove contributions and suspend accounts that pollute community data.

Do not attempt to manipulate menu generation into producing content unrelated to cooking and nutrition.

Breach of these obligations may lead to immediate suspension or termination of your account (see “Termination”).

Not medical or personalised nutrition advice

Macro Recipe provides general nutrition and budgeting information. Menus, recipes, macro figures and price estimates are for general guidance only. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a personalised nutrition or dietetic consultation.

Menus and recipes are produced by an automated generation system from your nutritional targets and culinary constraints. Automatically generated content can contain errors: review each recipe before relying on it, especially quantities and any ingredient affected by your allergies or diet.

Nutrition values and prices are estimates and can be inaccurate. Always check ingredients and product labels yourself, especially if you have a food allergy or intolerance — you remain responsible for what you eat.

If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under medical supervision, or have a history of disordered eating, consult a qualified health professional before changing your diet. The app is not a substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian.

Intellectual property

Your content stays yours. You keep ownership of the data you create in the app: goals and preferences, logged meals, pantry, grocery lists and price observations. You grant us the limited, non-exclusive licence strictly needed to operate the service for you; it ends when your account is deleted. Price observations you choose to share with the community are made available to other users in anonymised form.

Everything else belongs to us or our licensors: the app, its code, design, name, brand, texts, illustrations and the recipe catalogue. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for your own needs. Any other reproduction, modification or distribution is prohibited.

Menus and recipes generated for you are for your personal, non-commercial use — cook them and share them with your household, but do not resell them or republish them as a collection.

Service availability

We aim to keep Macro Recipe available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, security reasons or events beyond our control (force majeure), and we are not liable for the resulting interruptions.

For significant planned interruptions, we will inform you in advance by email or in-app notification whenever reasonably possible.

Termination

By you: you can stop using the app at any time and cancel your subscription in your store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You can permanently delete your account and data from the app in Settings → Privacy.

By us: we may suspend or terminate your account with immediate effect in case of serious breach of these terms — fraud, abuse of community features, security attacks or free-trial abuse. In that case, no refund is due for the current period.

We may also discontinue the service or terminate accounts for other reasons with 30 days’ notice; in that case, the unused portion of a paid period is refunded pro rata.

Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it is error-free, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on generated menus, macro figures or price estimates.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for all claims is capped at the amounts you actually paid us during the 12 months preceding the event, or €50 if you use the free tier. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages such as loss of data or loss of income.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

If you have a dispute with us, contact us first at support@macro-recipe.com — most issues are resolved amicably. We reply within 30 days.

If you are an EU consumer and no amicable solution is found, you may use a consumer mediation service (Directive 2013/11/EU) or the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Failing amicable resolution, disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the French courts — for professionals, exclusively the courts of Créteil (Val-de-Marne) — subject to mandatory consumer-law rules applicable in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For substantial changes, we will notify you at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or in-app notification.

Continuing to use Macro Recipe after the effective date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you can cancel your subscription and stop using the service before that date, at no extra cost.
